Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has launched the “Gazoo-fied” trim for its subcompact sport utility vehicle (SUV) Rush.
The leading local automotive manufacturer said that the new Toyota Rush GR-S (which stands for Gazoo Racing Sport) serves as the crossover’s top-of-the-line variant, replacing the 1.5 G AT grade.
“The Toyota Rush has been a preferred SUV for young people seeking to fully live their active lifestyle with a car that can keep up with their desire to break away from the everyday,” TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Sherwin Chualim said.
“That is why it is very fitting that the Rush now comes with a GR-S variant that follows TGR's philosophy of pushing the limits for better. For our customers, this means added thrill, excitement, and style in their everyday drives,” he added.
The motorsports-inspired version of the seven-seater offering is equipped with aesthetic upgrades that are in line with the brand's Gazoo Racing (GR) roots such as the GR-branded front bumper spoiler, rear bumper spoiler, and side body molding.
The vehicle is still powered by a 1.5-liter, four cylinder, 16-valve dual overhead cam engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission that can deliver 102 horses and 134Nm of torque.
Since it replaces the 1.5 G AT option, the new Toyota Rush GR-S features smart entry functionality and eight-speaker audio system matched to a seven-inch touchscreen display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
For safety and security, the new Toyota Rush GR-S comes with the standard anti-brake lock system, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, Toyota vehicle security system, built-in camera, back sonar and more.
Available in three color options namely Dark Red Mica Metallic, Black Metallic, and White, the new Toyota Rush GR-S has a suggested retail price of P1.176 million.
Aside from the Toyota Rush GR-S, the company also offers five models that carry the GR badge: the GR Yaris, Vios GR-S, Fortuner GR-S, Hilux GR-S, and GR Supra.
