In an advisory issued on June 27, 2019, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is recalling 12,124 units of the Toyota Rush for an issue with its airbag computer. According to TMP, due to an error in the programming of the Rush's airbag computer, the vehicle's curtain shield airbags may deploy "upon impact on the rear wheel," forcing it to initiate a Special Service Campaign, specifically the units manufactured for the local market from April 2, 2018 to February 7, 2019. "As a preventive measure, Toyota Motor Philippines will notify the concerned customers through Official Notification Letter," the Japanese carmaker said in a statement. "Customers may bring their unit at any authorized Toyota dealer for the replacement of the Airbag Computer Assembly with a new one at NO COST." © Patrick Everett Tadeo for CARMUDI PHILIPPINES
