Toyota PH says that, for now, you'll have to wait for that Land Cruiser 300 you ordered

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) was able to secure orders of the highly coveted Land Cruiser 300 (LC300) prior to the announcement that nameplate will have a longer waiting period.

However, a source told Carmudi Philippines that supplies (at least for the short term) may not be enough to cover all the advance orders made by Filipinos.

Asked on the status of orders, the source from the country's leading automotive manufacturer said, “Supply is expected to improve in line with the resumption of production...  But with high outstanding reservations incoming supply may still be limited to serve these reservations.”

In an announcement last week, Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan) said that the waiting period could be as long as four years.

The Japanese automotive giant sport utility vehicle offering has immediately enjoyed the warm welcome of buyers all around the world, with the demand rising exponentially.

“Thank you for considering and ordering our vehicle. We sincerely apologize for the fact that Land Cruiser has been very well received not only in Japan but also around the world, and it is expected that it will take a long time to deliver it after receiving an order,” Toyota said in an announcement on its website.

The waiting period seems to be longer than the delivery of some supercars, wherein buyers will have their vehicles in a span of up to a year or two.

While the forecast was made as of January 19,, the Japanese automaker said that changes may occur “depending on the production situation in the future.”

“We will do our utmost to shorten the delivery time of our customers, and we appreciate your understanding,” Toyota noted.

It was just last week when Toyota announced that several production facilities are being suspended next month due to semiconductor shortage. In the initial announcement, the Land Cruiser nameplate was not included.

In early December 2021, the Australian market had started receiving their Land Cruiser 300 Series, after Japan’s production of the right-hand-drive version resumed.
