Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has just announced that its hybrid electric vehicle lineup will expand further as it is set to bring the Toyota RAV4 HEV to the local market next month.
It can be recalled that the Toyota Rav4 nameplate got updated locally in February 2019.
In a statement, the country’s top automotive distributor said that the forthcoming offering is the second hybrid crossover that the country will have, following the launch of the Corolla Cross HEV last year.
“The rapid succession of Toyota’s HEV model introductions in the country is an indicator that Hybrid cars are now mainstream. Filipinos are ready for energy efficient mobility options with less emissions, and Hybrids offer choices that are practical and ready to use in our existing infrastructure and road conditions,” TMP First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations Sherwin Chualim said.
The nearing launch of the Toyota Rav4 will bring the TMP’s total hybrid models to five— from the Prius, the Corolla Altis HEV, the Corolla Cross HEV and the new Camry HEV, which was revealed locally last year.
On top of the self-charging Hybrid technology (no need to plug in) the New RAV4 HEV is expected to carry more exciting innovation and technology, like advanced safety features, Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) development, combined with the signature quality, durability, and reliability, suitable for the brave and adventurous.
The suggested retail price for the incoming model is expected to start at P2.157 million and reservations can be made at Toyota dealerships starting Monday next week.
