Toyota PH to secure more LC300 units as Japan starts distribution

After vehicle production in Japan is now back to normal levels, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) said that it is now in coordination with executives to help the company secure more supplies of the Land Cruiser 300 Series (LC300).

In an interview, TMP First Vice President on Vehicle Sales Operations Sherwin Chualim said that the company is now seeking to get supply of the iconic sport utility vehicle (SUV) at the earliest possible time.

“We are happy to receive positive and excited feedback from the local market on the newly launched LC300. Because of the high global demand for the LC300 upon its launch, TMP is working on securing more supply to serve our customers as soon as possible,” Chualim told Carmudi Philippines.

Reports stated that dealers of the leading automotive manufacturer started offering the 2022 iteration of the model in September. This is offered in two two variants, namely the ZX and VX, with prices ranging from P5.173 million up to P5.657 million — depending on the variety and body color preferred.

Both of these trims are powered by a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel engine paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This power mill can deliver 304hp and 700Nm of pulling power.

Chualim also shared that when it comes to specifications,  Australian version and Philippine version are almost similar. “Due to different customer preferences, we carefully studied local customer needs and preferences during the planning for the Philippine model,” he noted.

In Australia, Toyota started the customer deliveries after the production of the right-hand drive version in Japan resumed last month.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley is grateful to the customers who have remained patient despite the delay of the units after being affected by the global semiconductor supply shortage. "We would like to thank our customers for their understanding. It has been a challenging few months, with COVID-19 causing production stoppages in Japan and elsewhere across the region," Hanley was quoted as saying.

"We are pleased to announce that with Toyota's production in Japan restored to normal levels in December, Land Cruisers are now starting to land in Australia ready to be delivered to their new owners… Our Dealers have the latest information on customers' individual orders and expected delivery timing, and we thank our customers again for their patience," he added.

In the Land Down Under, the all-new Land Cruiser 300 Series is offered in the core grades of GX, GXL, VX and Sahara with two new flagships - the luxury Sahara ZX and off-road-focused GR Sport.

The body of the vehicle is reinforced by a new body-on-frame Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform. It also features an array of electronic assistance technologies to ensure it is the most capable, safest Land Cruiser ever.
