Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) could be unveiling the hybrid version of the Innova sooner than expected.
Word in the industry said that the possible latest addition in the company’s local roster might be revealed within the month. Earlier reports confirming its nearing arrival is backing up such hypothesis.
To note, the hybrid version of Toyota multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) offering is already available in neighboring country Indonesia. The production of the aforementioned model — called Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid EV — in the host country has started since late last year.
Although nothing is written in stone, the expected-to-be-introduced model could be fitted with a 2.0-liter gasoline four-cylinder, 16-valve, double overhead cam engine with electric motor mated to an electronically-controlled variable valve transmission. The said engine — found in Indonesian-spec model — has the capacity to deliver 183.4 horsepower (hp) and 187 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque while the electric motor can do 111 hp and 205Nm.
Other details will be shared soon, keep your eyes peeled on the Carmudi Philippines website.
