Toyota PH updates locally-bred Innova

After the long string of launches last year, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is at it again, this time, updating its multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Toyota Innova.

TMP First Vice President for Marketing Sherwin Chualim shared that the introduction of the locally manufactured vehicle is very appropriate, considering the difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The introduction of the New Innova could not have been timelier as the current situation has allowed us to appreciate moments shared with our families and loved ones,” Chualim said.

“As we slowly go back to the roads to rediscover the happiness of traveling together, it is important to have a car that can keep us safe, while providing power, comfort, luxury, and style. The new Innova has all that and more,” he said.

The new Innova is still assembled at TMP’s manufacturing plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The model debuted back in 2005, and now has reached a longer timeline compared to the predecessors—the Tamaraw FX and Revo.

Reaching up to 240,000 proud Innova owners to date and catering to a wide range of needs and preferences of Filipino families and drivers, the Innova indeed raises the flag, and symbolizes excellence in the local manufacturing industry,” Chualim claimed.

Still powering the new Innova is Toyota’s potent 2.8L diesel engine that has two available drive modes (Eco and Power).

Wearing a new bigger front grille and bumper design that accentuates the LED headlamps and LED front fog lamps for V grade, the facelifted Innova has redesigned side turn signal lamps that makes it more aggressive-looking. Adding further character in the front fascia is the daytime running lights on the V variant.

A black outline is also fitted on the rear combination lights of the V and G grades. Apart from that, the V grades are fitted with 17” alloy wheels while G and E grades get newly designed, smaller 16” alloys.

Comfort and convenience is also ensured in this new iteration as the new Innova has Push Start and Smart Entry for V variant) and ease of connectivity with the infotainment system that is Apple Carplay- and Android Auto-compatible (for V, G, and E variants).

The V and G trims have new two-tone Noble Brown/black interior and the V variant gets captain seats for the second row and foldable seat back table with cup holder.

The new Innova’s safety features include SRS airbags (seven fitted on the V variant), three-point seatbelts, Anti-Lock Brake System with Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill-Start Assist Control. The V and G variants now have a reverse camera as well as clearance and back sonars.

With six variants to choose from, the price of the new Toyota Innova ranges from P1.186 million for the base model J to the P1.739 million for the top-grade V AT and comes in six colors, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Blackish Red Mica, Alumina Jade Metallic, Silver Metallic, Black, Super White II and Red Mica Metallic (additional P15,000 for the White Pearl Crystal Shine).
