Toyota releases special edition Corolla hatch
Are you a fan of sport hatchbacks? Maybe Toyota's newest release is the car for you.
A hatch wrapped in expressive styling, an exclusive body kit and striking red paint, the 2021 Corolla Hatchback Special Edition looks like it just came out of a custom shop.
Toyota will be making just 200 samples of these red-hot hatches, so better expect they will be gone as quick as they come.
The special edition Corolla is fitted with various safety and convenience upgrades common to the rest of the 2021 Corolla Hatchback line. All 2021 Corolla Hatchback models will come equipped with rear seat mounted side airbags, making the car’s total airbag count to 10. In addition to this, the 2021 Corolla Hatchback will now have Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Blind Spot Monitor standard starting from the SE variant and above. All 2021 Corolla Hatchback models also come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver-assist technologies, which include Pre-Collision System with Daytime/Low-Light Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, plus Daytime Bicycle Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (CVT only), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection, Automatic High Beams, and Lane Tracing Assist which will only be available on the CVT variants.
The 2021 Corolla Hatchback also has two new body color options: Wind Chill Pearl and Supersonic Red. Both shades are available with the Black Roof option, and the rest of the color roster for 2021 includes Classic Silver Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Galactic Aqua Mica and Blue Flame.
For the 2021 model year, Toyota focused on the fun aspect of driving with the new Special Edition. This variant is based on the SE Upgrade CVT grade, and is wrapped in Supersonic Red. It comes fitted with 18 inch black alloy wheels and an aggressive-looking body kit that can easily go head to head with the aftermarket ones in both style and value. The body kit adds a sporty front splitter, side skirts, black rear roof spoiler, a rear bumper garnish and a unique Special Edition badge.
As of now, the company hasn't announced any prices yet, but it's safe to assume it will still be close to the current price of $21,000 (base model) or P1 million, with minor increases across-the-board. The 2021 Corolla Hatchback will be available in the later part of 2020.
