Toyota rolls out initiatives to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine
Toyota joins the growing number of automotive brands that are providing support for the humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. The Japanese carmaker has several initiatives in place to help those who are affected by the crisis in Ukraine.

Toyota Japan will donate 500,000 euros to UNHCR.According to Toyota, more than 1,700 Ukrainian employees work in the company’s European entities, mainly in countries neighboring Ukraine, such as the production plants in the Czech Republic (TMMCZ) and Poland (TMMP).
Toyota adds that since the early days of the conflict, employees at the TMMCZ and TMMP facilities were able to set up transportation, shelter, and access to medical services, as well as administrative support to families of Ukrainian employees forced to flee Ukraine.
Toyota also established the Toyota Humanitarian Aid Fund to provide relocation support, including accommodation and meals, to Ukrainian employees and their families, and donate through a pan-European fundraising campaign to either the Red Cross or UNHCR.
Toyota Japan will donate €500,000 to the UNHCR.
Furthermore, Toyota is engaged in in-kind donations and employee pro bono activities such as volunteering support for the provision of temporary housing in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, and other countries, as well as language interpretation for refugees.
To support the abovementioned initiative, Toyota Motor Europe (TME) is allowing up to 40 paid hours per member to participate in these activities via its pro bono volunteering program.
“Like everyone around the world, Toyota is watching the ongoing developments in Ukraine with great concern for the safety of people of Ukraine and hopes for a safe return to peace as soon as possible,” the company said in a recent press release.
