The latest Toyota to receive an update in Thailand is none other than the Camry executive sedan. The Japanese carmaker has been constantly updating its ASEAN portfolio, and Toyota Thailand gave a befitting treatment to the full-sized sedan.
Now on its eighth generation, the Thai-spec Camry is reported to have dropped its base 2.0-liter variant to streamline its engine options. At the moment, all of Toyota Thailand’s Camry lineup is made up of four variants — all equipped with a 2.5-liter powerplant.
Two of the said four variants are hybrid models, fitted with Toyota’s permanent magnet synchronous motor and a nickel-metal hydride battery.
Outside, the large sedan gets mild changes with new chrome inserts flanking the front grille. It also features LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED rear lamps, LED side turn signal lamps, smart entry functions, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a moon roof.
Toyota’s Thai customers will enjoy the new eight-inch infotainment system (nine inches on the range-topping variant) that seems to pop out from the dashboard.
Safety is also improved in the refreshed model with the introduction of the Toyota Safety Sense in higher-trim variants.
A Modellista package is also available for the new Camry.
Prices range from ฿1,475,000 to ฿1,809,000 (around P2,248,201 to P2,757,285).
While Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is yet to make an announcement, the arrival of the face-lifted Camry in the ASEAN market hints that the Philippines could soon be next.
TMP’s current Camry lineup includes the 2.5 G and 2.5 V variants, priced at P1,886,000 and P2,072,000, respectively.
