Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) has introduced the fourth-generation Alphard and Vellfire.
In a statement, the Japanese automaker said that the all-new models were developed to provide “the joy of comfortable mobility.”
With that, TMC improved the basic performance, such as vibration and noise reduction measures, fuel economy, and driving dynamics of the all-new Alphard and Vellfire (dubbed “luxury saloons”). In addition, their respective aesthetics, spacious interior and exterior, and user-friendliness have also been enhanced to add value.
To start, the all-new Alphard and Vellfire are both fitted with Universal Steps on the right and left-hand-side sliding doors — making them the first Toyota models to be featured with such.
Further, both models enjoy proactive driving assistive technologies such as intra-lane steering assist, and deceleration assist when turning at intersections. Other safety features include advanced park with remote function as well as advanced drive (support during heavy traffic situations).
The all-new Alphard and Vellfire wear MacPherson strut front suspension specific for the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform with an updated double wishbone rear suspension.
Moreover, both models are powered by a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder double overhead cam mill (either with or without the Toyota Hybrid System).
While there are notable similarities, Toyota said that the two offerings have distinguished differences too. According to Toyota, the Vellfire was given an exclusive new Z Premier trim, whose primarily black equipment and aggressive demeanor were infused with a new sophistication to further underscore its unique exterior. In addition, the all-new Vellfire’s suspension was specially tuned.
The pricing for the all-new Toyota Alphard ranges from ¥5.4 million (around P2.119 million) up to ¥8.72 million (P3.423 million). On the other hand, the retail price of the Vellfire varies from ¥6.55 million (P2.57 million) to ¥8.92 million (P3.5 million).
To note, the Alphard was first launched in 2002. Then in 2008, the nameplate’s second-generation was introduced together with the Vellfire model. In 2015, the company unveiled the third-generation Alphard and launched the Executive Lounge variant.
The all-new Toyota Alphard and Vellfire are produced in the company's Inabe facility and are offered in Kinto subscription service in its home country.
Locally, Toyota Motor Philippines is offering the Alphard in three colors namely Graphite Metallic, Black, and White Pearl Crystal Shine — with prices varying from P4.16-P4.175 million.
