After the all-new Toyota Avanza has been introduced in the country recently, it seems that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will be bringing in the Veloz soon.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What Toyota model is expected to be offered soon?
It is the Toyota Veloz. What hinted the arrival of the Toyota Veloz in the Philippines?
It is the latest New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries. The assumption was made after the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP) gave the new Toyota Veloz a five-star rating to kickstart the assessment program for the year.
Based on the ASEAN-NCAP report, the examined variant origin is Indonesia that is made for its local market, as well as Brunei, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines.
However, TMP has not yet issued any official statement nor has confirmed its arrival in the country when asked by Carmudi Philippines. Based on what we were told, the Veloz will be another model separate from the Avanza.
Whether it will be coming sooner or later, the ASEAN-NCAP rating for the new Veloz would serve as a welcome development — not just for the local distributor, but for the global brand as a whole.
The seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle achieved the five-star rating after raking in a total of 79.99 points under the 2021-2025 protocol.
The ASEAN-NCAP shared that the model is equipped with six airbags as standard (except for the Indonesian market which offers variants with only two airbags.
Aside from that, the new Veloz comes with anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, pedestrian protection technology, and a seatbelt reminder system for front and rear seat occupants.
Further, the ASEAN-NCAP noted that the new model features safety assist technologies like the autonomous emergency braking for city and inter-urban setting and blind spot detection as well as forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assist.
