TPLEX Pozorrubio Exit to Open on December 6
The Pozorrubio Exit of the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Toll Expressway (TPLEX) is scheduled to be opened on December 6, according to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar.
According to Villar, the 10.10-kilometer Pozorrubio Exit is almost complete and that Private Infra Dev Corp. (PIDC), the project's concessionaire, has already committed to finish the segment in time for the Christmas season.
"The additional 10 kilometer road would ease traffic and significantly reduce travel time from Tarlac to Pozorrubio from two hours and 30 minutes to just 45 minutes," the DPWH secretary noted.
The completion of the new segment will make TPLEX a 78.39-kilometer expressway, connecting Tarlac and Pangasinan.
Villard added that the TPLEX's last section--the 10.92-kilometer segment from Pozorrubio, Pangasinan to Rosario, La Union is set for completion in June 2019.
"Upon full completion, TPLEX would reduce travel time from Tarlac to Rosario, La Union from 3.5 hours to just an hour, benefiting an average of 20,000 vehicles per day," he noted.
