TRB approves provisional SCTEX toll fee adjustment

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) has approved the provisional adjustment for toll fees at the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

  • SCTEX Toll Fee Adjustment Notice

    Per TRB, the said adjustment motorists traveling between Tarlac City to Mabalacat on Class 1, 2, and 3 vehicles will be charged with an additional P25, P50, and P75, respectively. 

    Meanwhile, those traveling between Mabalacat and Tipo, Hermosa Bataan on Class 1 vehicles can expect an additional P40-charge on top of their usual fees. On the other hand, those on Class 2 automobiles will see an additional charge of P81. Further, Class 3 vehicles passing along the said route will be charged with an additional P121.

    Finally, travelers who will use the toll road from Tipo, Hermosa Bataan to Tarlac City will pay an additional P65 for Class 1 vehicles, P131 for Class 2 vehicles, and P169 for Class 3 vehicles. 

    The said adjustments is the first of three tranches, which will be executed in a period of three years. 

    According to TRB, the reason for the staggered hike is to “protect the general welfare, curb the existing inflationary situation, and to mitigate impact to the motoring public.”

    Moreover the country’s toll regulatory bureau noted that the provisional adjustment has undergone “thorough and meticulous review.”

    “With these toll rate adjustments, NLEX Corp. is expected to operate and maintain SCTEX in accordance with the required level of service and standards and will pursue necessary improvements and expansion works that shall redound to the benefit of the tollway users by way of safe, convenient, fast, and worthy travel experience at the SCTEX,” TRB wrote in a statement.
