Truck and bus operators back NLEX-SCTEX Biyahero road safety caravan

A total of 226 transport members participated in the event.One of NLEX Corporation’s initiatives designed to assure safer expressway experience to motorists, the caravan — held during the Manila Commercial Vehicle Show at the SMX Convention Center — brought together the Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines (CTAP), Inland Haulers and Truckers Association (INHTA), Haulers and Truckers Association in the Watersouth (HATAW), and Nagkakaisang Samahan ng Nangangasiwa ng Panlalawigang Bus sa Pilipinas Inc. (NSNPBPI).
A total of 226 transport members participated in the event wherein the importance of road safety was highlighted through numerous activities aimed at sharing the proper expressway driving, rules and apprehensions and vehicle preventive maintenance.
Further, the discussion in the caravan focused on enforcement of road rules and apprehensions within the aforementioned thoroughfare.
Participants also engaged in various interactive fun activities like the driving simulation and drunk goggle game.
Aside from that, the NLEX Corporation has put up an Easytrip Pitstop kiosk for the easy facilitation of RFID transactions such as installation, checking of balances, reloading and updating of customer information.
“We always strive to make our expressway safe by rolling out road safety education programs in partnership with our stakeholders, exemplifying the culture of safety that we endeavor to instill among our motorists and stakeholders,” NLEX Corporation President Luigi Bautista said.
Meanwhile, CTAP President Maria Zapata expressed the company’s support towards advocating road safety. “As a shared responsibility, we aimed at eliminating road accidents caused by negligence or driver error, making this program even more relevant and value-adding for the transport sector,” she said.
