Updated Bajaj RE three-wheeler released, retails for P182K
After being allowed to ply secondary highways, the updated version of the three-wheeled Bajaj RE has been brought into the country by the brand's local distributor, Trimotors Technology Corporation (TTC).
Symmetrically configured and factory-built, the new Bajaj RE has been fitted with nifty upgrades to make every ride enjoyable and comfortable as well.
Powering the Bajaj RE is a 198.88 CC DTS-I fuel-injected engine matched to a constant mesh, four-speed manual transmission that has a maximum torque of 17.1Nm. It might be the same displacement as the previous version but TTC said that some adjustments such as a silencer assembly mounted on engine crankcase with enhanced timing chain were installed to make the powertrain operation smoother and quieter.
The new Bajaj RE now boasts a rear seat metal door to provide passengers added safety and security, and an updated symmetrical transparent hood on both sides for enhanced visibility,
Further, the all-new Bajaj RE now sports a sleek dashboard that gives it a clean look inside, and is equipped with an MP3 player to provide music to occupants.
Available in Yellow, Blue, Red, White and Green, the all-new Bajaj is retailed at ₱182,888, which is higher by ₱3,899 than its predecessor that was priced at ₱178,999.
In the Philippines, more than 50,000 Bajaj RE units have been sold since its introduction, with more than half of the units rolled out used as public utility vehicles and about a third of the total used by the MSMEs.
