Subaru announced that the United States (US)-market Ascent — known in the Philippines as the Evoltis — was honored with the Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The model impressed the judges by scoring a Good rating in all eight of the more stringent crashworthiness tests. Likewise, the US-spec Evoltis earned a Good score in the headlight test and Superior grades in the daytime and nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention evaluations.
Similarly, the Subaru Evoltis achieved a Good score in the Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) ease of use and in the seatbelt reminders tests.
“We are thrilled that another one of our Subaru models received the highest possible rating in this new tougher test. Our top priority with Ascent, and all our models, is to provide customers with vehicles meeting the highest standards in safety,” said Subaru of America, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas Doll.
Since 2013, Subaru has received a cumulative total of 69 TSP+ awards, which is more than any other brand.
