The all-new Toyota Crown will reportedly be offered in three variants with two hybrid powertrain systems when it hits United States (US) dealerships in early 2023.

The two hybrid powertrains of the 2023 Toyota Crown are the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) and the Toyota Hybrid Max.According to Toyota, the three variants of the 2023 Crown sedan are XLE, Limited, and Platinum.
The base XLE variant and the mid-range Limited model will be powered by the Toyota Hybrid System (THS), which combines a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with two (front and rear) electric motors. Both cars will get an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT).
Meanwhile, the range-topping Platinum will be equipped with Toyota’s Hybrid Max powertrain system, which pairs a 2.4-liter turbocharged gasoline powerplant with two electric motors. It will get a direct shift six-speed automatic transmission.
Toyota did not share the maximum power output of the THS-equipped XLE and Limited variants but disclosed the performance data of the Hybrid Max-fitted Premium model. Per the Aichi-based carmaker, the 2023 Toyota Crown Platinum can put out as much as 340 horsepower (hp) with 542Nm of pulling power.
All three variants of the 2023 Toyota Crown will sport all-wheel drive systems. The XLE and Limited variants will get Electronic On-Demand all-wheel-drive (AWD) while the top-of-the-line Platinum will get Full-Time Electronic AWD.
Equipment-wise, the base XLE variant will come with 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and powered woven fabric front seats, and the all-new Toyota Multimedia System with a 12.3-inch touchscreen plus six speakers.
The Limited variant builds from the XLE’s standard equipment and adds multibeam LED headlights, a fixed panoramic roof, heated and ventilated leather seats, a JBL Premium audio sound system with 11 speakers, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking (PA w/AB).
Would-be owners will be able to option the Limited variant with the Advanced Technology package, which adds dark metallic 21-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels; a panoramic view monitor, and a digital key.
Finally, the Platinum variant will get all the standard features of the Limited variant and adds Adaptive Variable Suspension, six selectable drive modes, Advanced Park, and unique 21-inch machined 10-spoke alloy wheels with black accents.
A bi-tone colorway will be available for the Platinum variant.
The 2023 Toyota Crown XLE is priced at US$39,950 (P2.332 million) while the 2023 Toyota Crown XLE gets a $45,550 (P2.659 million) price tag. The 2023 Toyota Crown Platinum is priced at $52,350 (P3.056 million).
