Valenzuela City to Implement Number Coding Scheme in September
In a bid to curb the looming traffic situation in his area of responsibility, Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian is set to adapt the Number Coding Scheme being implemented in Metro Manila.
In his Facebook post last August 20, Gatchalian announced in Filipino the implementation of the traffic coding scheme starting on September 3, Monday.
"To reduce the vehicles on our roads, starting on September 3, we will strictly implement the Number Coding Scheme," the city mayor said in his post.
According to Gatchalian, the Number Coding Scheme will be enforced on the following roads:
- McArthur Highway
- Maysan-Paso de Blas Road
- Karuhatan-Gen.T de Leon
- Gov. I Santiago (Malinta-Tatawid)
- Mindanao Avenue (Brgy. Ugong)
- East and West NLEX service road
- T. Santiago Road
- Sapang Bakaw (Lawang Bato)-Punturin-Bignay Road
Just like the extended United Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the number coding scheme will be put into effect from 7 AM up to 8 PM with no window hours and will only be suspended on holidays.
He also said that there will be a penalty to be imposed on those who will violate the number coding scheme.
