Nissan will officially drop the drapes on its latest Z sports car via a global unveiling happening on August 17.
You can watch the global virtual reveal here.
The upcoming seventh-gen Nissan 350Z had been scheduled to make its appearance in the recently canceled New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). That said, Nissan will instead go with a virtual reveal through an event setup via the carmaker’s official Facebook page.
A prototype of the Nissan Z was introduced in September of last year, and the Japanese automotive brand has already shared some of the car’s details including its powertrain and transmission setup. Fans of the Z model will be watching the big reveal with knowledge on what the sport scar will bring to the table. Its forthcoming unveiling, however, will confirm how far the production unit is from the prototype in terms of style.
The teaser video, which you can check here, features just a silhouette of the Nissan Z. Nevertheless, it was enough for us to catch some details on its exterior like the bright yellow paint, the fastback design, and of course, the iconic half-circle headlamps and the “Z” badge.
Nissan says that the Nissan Z’s highly-anticipated reveal next week will showcase 50 years of the brand’s automotive innovation. Nissan most likely refers to the twin-turbo V6 powerplant and the six-speed manual tranny that the Nissan Z will most likely be equipped with.
In addition, word on the web says that the 2022 Nissan Z will have a souped-up Nismo variant which we expect to be more powerful than the standard model.
