VIDEO: We Try Out the Ford Ranger Raptor on the Lahar Beds in Zambales
Ford Philippines recently had select members of the media test drive the Ford Ranger Raptor over the lahar beds in Zambales and we can honestly say that we're impressed by how it handles both on and off road.
On road, the ride is practically akin to a luxury car as any undulations on the road--from rumble strips to potholes--were easily negated by the trick suspension setup, with aluminum double wishbone suspensions up front and innovative coilover suspensions with a Watt’s link setup and solid axles at the back AND the exclusive Position Sensitive Damping shock absorbers on all four wheels by Fox Racing.
It's on the soft and slippery lahar beds in Zambales though that the Ranger Raptor showed off its true capabilities as it not only did short work of the terrain but also proved that you can take it out from the friendly confines of the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and go straight to the lahar beds between the towns of San Narciso and San Felipe without any modifications. That's because, to put it simply, the Ranger Raptor is a Ford Ranger that's been modified right inside Ford's Rayong, Thailand plant with its performance capabilities dialed up to 11.
