The initial salvo of dealership openings targeted by VinFast in the Philippines is six.The Vietnamese car brand announced not too long ago that it would make its local debut today, promising with its arrival a robust roster of electric vehicles (EV). Not looking to disappoint, it presented a handful of products, most notably two crossovers and two sport utility vehicles (SUV).
VinFast VF e34
The VinFast VF e34 is an electric crossover that is equipped with a permanent magnet motor that makes as much as 147 horsepower (hp) with 242 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.
It also packs a battery that promises emissions-free driving of some 318 kilometers (km).
VinFast VF 5
Yet another crossover, the VinFast VF 5 — touted as the Gen Z EV — offers an all-electric driving range of around 326 km. Its electric motor can make as much as 134 hp.
Its strongest suits include a modern-looking exterior, rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, and is available in six striking colors, namely Iris Berry, Mint Green, Electric Blue, Infinity Blanc, Crimson Red, and Zenith Gray.
Interior amenities include a seven-inch instrument cluster and an eight-inch infotainment screen.
VinFast VF 7
VinFast is also looking to get a share of the Philippine EV SUV market by introducing the five-seater VF 7. Depending on the variant, customers can get either a single or dual electric motor equipped model.
The former makes 174 horses with 250 Nm of pulling power, while the latter puts out some 348 hp with 500 Nm of torque. In addition, the standard (single motor-equipped variant) has an estimated range of 375 km while the Plus (dual motor-fitted model) has an estimated range of 431 km.
VinFast VF 9
The VinFast VF 9 is a seven-seater EV SUV.
With more space to offer, it is understandably slapped with a dual motor setup as standard. It dishes out 402 hp (201 from each motor). The range-topping Plus model offers an estimated driving range of 602 km, the approximate range of the base variant is yet to be announced.
Other notable features include an all-wheel drive drivetrain, selectable driving modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a digital instrument cluster, and an eight-inch screen for the second-row seats mounted at the center console.
On top of the electric crossovers and SUVs, VinFast also presented its lineup of electric motorcycles as well as the VF DrgnFly electric bicycle.
VinFast also teased the VF 3, which it said will arrive soon. Further, VinFast noted that it plans to open six dealerships in the country, although the locations of the said facilities are yet to be disclosed.
“There’s a plan to do six car dealerships… In VinFast, we don’t just sell cars. With every purchase of your EVs, we want to ensure ease of owning and driving,” said VinFast Philippines Chief Marketing Officer Pie Villaester.
The pricing of the aforementioned models will be revealed by the brand at a latter date although the brand already confirmed that its products come with a warranty as long as 10 years.
