Volkswagen Group enjoys 25% increase in BEV deliveries worldwide
The Volkswagen Group shared that its overall battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sales worldwide went up by 25 percent in the first nine months of 2022.

For 2022, the best-selling BEV from the Volkswagen Group are the Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5.In the same time period last year, the German automotive conglomerate sold 293,000 units. This year, they have already delivered 366,400 BEV examples.
By the end of September, the Volkswagen brand delivered 207,200 BEV to customers (around 57 percent of the Group’s total). This was followed by Audi with 77,000 vehicles (approximately 21 percent of the Group’s total), Škoda with 36,900 vehicles (roughly 10 percent of the Group’s total), Porsche with 25,100 vehicles (seven percent of the Group’s total), and Seat/Cupra with 17,600 vehicles (about five percent of the Group’s total).
“Customers love our brands’ all-electric model range which is the broadest in the industry. Due to the strong demand and ongoing supply constraints, our order bank remains at a high level. However, we reached a BEV share of 6.8 percent in Q3, the highest so far this year,” commented Volkswagen Group Member of the Extended Executive Committee Hildegard Wortmann.
Per the automotive consortium, the largest electric vehicle (EV) market for the Group is still in Europe with 211,900 vehicles delivered (58 percent of the Group’s total) in the first nine months. This is followed by the Chinese market with 112,700 deliveries (31 percent of the Group’s total). The United States corresponded to eight percent of the Group’s global BEV deliveries with 28,900 vehicles.
In terms of the model’s sales, the best-selling EV nameplate is the Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5 with 122,600 units sold combined. The Volkswagen ID.3, on the other hand, sold 45,500 units.
This is followed by the Škoda Enyaq iV (including the Coupé version) selling a total of 36,900 units.
Audi also managed to sell a total of 36,400 units of the e-tron (including the Sportback variant) and a total of 29,700 units of the Q4 the e-tron (including the Sportback model).
The new Volkswagen ID.6 trails behind with 27,500 units sold.
Porsche’s Taycan nameplate (including the Cross Turismo) contributed around 25,100 units.
Lastly, the Cupra Born managed to sell 17,500 units in total.
