Volkswagen announced yesterday, February 9, a range of essential camping accessories for the brand’s Euro-spec vans. Dubbed the “mobile home in a box,” these modular units fit into existing luggage compartments of Volkswagen Caravelle, California Beach Tour, or Caddy camper vans.
These kits provide owners of compatible vehicles with a kitchen area, bed, water supply, and storage space to give them complete comfort and flexibility.
According to the German automotive brand, the idea of launching a “mobile home in a box” came from the increasing demand for camping equipment in the past year. VW said that this trend is expected to continue in 2022.
“Our new camping accessory range makes travel more convenient for customers by combining all travel essentials, from utilities to water supply, in a smartly designed, comfortable, and compact space. Developing accessories that make our customers’ lives easier is a high priority at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, which is why our one-stop-shop mobile home in a box is a great solution for those planning a camping holiday,” said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Head of Aftersales James Allit.
