Volkswagen Philippines expressed confidence in its T-Cross compact sport utility vehicle, saying that customers “can discover more than one way to enjoy their usual road trips to scenic destinations.”
The Ayala-backed automotive distributor said that the vehicle has the capacity to amplify the lifestyle of its owners, which leads them to be “more than one thing.”
Before being introduced in the country last year, the Volkswagen T-Cross made its global debut in 2018. Volkswagen Philippines assured that every model’s example — which comes out in its manufacturing facilities in Brazil, China, Germany and India — has the same precision engineering and global standards of craftsmanship that the brand has been known for.
“The T-Cross—like all other Volkswagen models—benefits from precise German engineering across the entire production process, in all its global facilities. This is evident in every model’s fit and finish: Laser welding technology; forged steel door hinges; high-strength panels, and; consistent door seals and panel gaps, all contributing to a strong and durable body structure. This means that every T-Cross owner anywhere in the world is assured of a consistent, solid, world-class build. It’s as if the very same engineers, designers, and assemblers in Wolfsburg built every T-Cross themselves,” the company explained.
The T-Cross, though bearing the signature Volkswagen look, exudes a very trendy design that would appeal to the younger generation, starting from the color options such as Tribu Yellow, Syringa Violet, Romance Red, Chinchilla Gray, and Polar White — with the SE variant providing matching interior trims with the body color.
For its interior, the Volkswagen T-Cross comes with an active information display that makes the gauges and infotainment system easy to read. Its 9.2-inch infotainment monitor has wireless Apple Carplay connectivity.
The vehicle can also offer cavernous space inside as its compartment can expand up to 1,319 liters when the rear seats are folded.
Powering the 2022 Volkswagen T-Cross SE variant is the 1.5-liter Multi Point Injection (MPI) gasoline engine that is matched to a six-speed Tiptronic transmission. The power mill, which operates under the potent BlueMotion technology, can deliver as much as 111.4 horsepower and 145Nm of pulling power.
Further, its cruise control function assures a relaxed and comfortable journey when going on road trips and its sport mode feature helps dish out additional oomph.
Apart from having a vehicle that meets Euro 6 standards, the 2022 Volkswagen T-Cross SE also guarantees safety as it is fitted with electronic stabilization program, hill hold control, anti-slip regulation, rear parking distance control, and rear camera (exclusive to the SE variant).
Assuring visibility on the road are its LED headlights, daytime running lights, and front fog lamps with corner light function, aside from the standard rear fog lamps. Those who will get the SE option will literally have a great view above, thanks to its panoramic sunroof.
The Volkswagen T-Cross has been awarded multiple times worldwide, such as Best Compact SUV at BusinessCar Awards 2019 in United Kingdom, Compact SUV of the Year at the 2020 Continental Tyres Irish Car of the Year in Ireland, the Best “Exterior Volume Brand” at Frankfurt Motor Show 2019 in Germany, the Compact SUV of the Year by UOL Carros 2019 and L’Auto Preferita in Brazil, and the Compact Family Car category win in the 5th annual Cars.co.za Consumer Awards in South Africa.
Moreover, Volkswagen Philippines packaged the T-Cross with a very friendly aftersales support under its campaign, “Keep your Volkswagen running like a Volkswagen.” The German brand's local arm said that periodic maintenance services for the vehicle are only limited to once a year, allowing owners to save around 20 percent for its cost of ownership compared to its competitors in the market.
T-Cross owners can also have a worry-free drive with their units as Volkswagen Philippines is ready to accord the following benefits: 100,000-kilometer or three-year warranty coverage program (whichever comes first), three-month stock on parts, enhancements in service quality via Express Service, free 24/7 emergency roadside assistance.
In addition, Volkswagen Philippines said that its clients’ units are attended by technicians mentored by globally-certified trainers and backed by on-site and virtual diagnostic technical support.
