Volkswagen shares details of updated 2022 Tiguan
Volkswagen recently revealed the details of the upcoming 2022 year model of the Tiguan. The refreshed Tiguan will be offered in four trim levels including the S, SE, SL R-Line Black, and SEL R-Line.
All Tiguan variants, said Volkswagen, will be powered by an efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder engine mated to a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain setup will provide the updated Tiguan trims with a maximum power output of 184hp and 300Nm of torque.
The 2022 Tiguan models will showcase a new exterior styling that features a completely revised front fascia with new LED headlights and taillights with LED daytime running lights (DRLs). In addition, the LED light signature will be made available with an illuminated light line flanking the VW logo.
Depending on the trim level, the 2022 Tiguan will either ride on 17-inch alloy wheels (S), 18-inch alloy wheels (SE), 19-inch black alloy wheels (SE R-Line Black) or 20-inch silver alloy wheels (SEL R-Line).
Inside, the new Tiguans will feature the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit instrument cluster with an eight-inch display which is now made standard across the board. Meanwhile, the range-topping SEL R-Line will be fitted with the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro. Additional interior features include leatherette or leather seating surfaces, power driver and passenger seats, panoramic sunroof, Fender Premium Audio, and 15-color ambient lighting.
From the second trim level, all 2022 Tiguan models will now have the VW IQ.DRIVE driver assistance suite as standard. The base S variant will have the IQ.DRIVE driver assistance suite as an optional add-on for $895.
