Volkswagen to supply MEB components for Mahindra's EV platform
Volkswagen announced that it will supply components from its Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) toolkit for Mahindra’s Inglo. The two global brands signed a term sheet, which deepens the partnering agreement forged earlier this year.

Mahindra's EV SUV lineup that are to be unveiled around three years from now are the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09.The components include the electric drivetrain, battery system, and Volkwagen's unified cell.
According to the German automotive brand, the cooperation intends to have a volume of more than one million units and includes the equipment featured on the five recently-unveiled all-electric sport utility vehicles (SUV) by Mahindra.

The term sheet, per Volkswagen, covers all major commercial and technical terms along with a path to the potential localization of the battery system. The Wolfsburg-headquartered car brand added that the final supply agreement will be negotiated in a continued constructive and legally compliant way by the end of the year.
In addition, both companies agreed to further explore the potential areas of collaboration in the field of e-mobility, which includes vehicle projects, battery cell manufacturing localization, as well as charging and energy solutions for the electric ecosystem in the Indian automotive market.

The five EV SUV launched by Mahindra are XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. The first four of aforementioned vehicle, according to Mahindra, will be launched between 2024 and 2026.
