Volvo PH enjoys nearly 30% sales growth in 2022
Volvo Philippines experienced a strong sales performance in 2022 after rolling out 27 percent more vehicles compared to its pre-pandemic number.

The company said that its electrified model lineup boosted its sales for 2022.In a statement, the Swedish automotive manufacturer’s distributor in the country attributed the growth in number to its electrified models that form part of its roster, which include the XC40, XC60, and XC90.
Further, the long-wheelbase Volvo S90 premium sedan had a 109-percent growth in sales, while the XC90 continues to be the brand's best-selling nameplate in the country following a 187-percent rise.
Additionally, Volvo Philippines said that the strong output is also based on the marque’s reputation for safety, quality, and care.
Volvo Philippines is also said to be the first luxury brand locally that launched an intensive customer service program when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country. Its Volvo Concierge provided technical information and customer-centric assistance, especially during lockdowns.
Moreover, the company is also looking forward to a more productive 2023 as it will launch two new fully-electric models within the year and at the same time, increase its number of dealerships around the Philippines. The company noted that its Pampanga sales facility is actively entertaining customers even while its showroom is being built.
“Our dedication to providing our customers the Volvo that fits them best is foremost in our minds. That is why we find ways to cater to them the best way we can through a robust product portfolio and excellent customer care,” Volvo Philippines Marketing Director Chris Lee Yu was quoted as saying.
“We’d be happy to see more Volvos on Philippine roads and clients who enjoy the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable, and safe way,” he added.
Earlier, Carmudi Philippines reported that the twin motor versions of the Volvo C40 and the XC40 will be brought to the country by the final quarter of 2023.
Both models are powered by dual electric permanent magnet synchron front and rear motors that can deliver 408 horsepower (hp) and 660Nm of torque. They also have a top speed of 180 kilometers per hour (kph).
