Volvo to equip EX90 with Bowers and Wilkins audio system

The Volvo EX90 all-electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) will now be available with a sound system from Bowers and Wilkins.

According to the Swedish automotive brand, its flagship electric vehicle (EV) will now be available with the high-fidelity premium audio system, which creates an immersive, high-resolution sonic experience that pairs perfectly with the quietest Volvo cabin yet.

“For the new Volvo EX90, Bowers and Wilkins was a natural and obvious choice as the partner for our premium audio system. Its highly acclaimed approach to sound exudes quality and complements our design language seamlessly. This premium audio experience is what our customers have come to expect from us, and we are happy to partner with some of the most respected names in audio to deliver it,” said Volvo Cars Head of Car User Experience Jorge Furuya.

Per the Gothenburg-headquartered carmaker, its designers collaborated with the audio engineers at Bowers & Wilkins to ensure that owners of the Volvo EX90 EV SUV will enjoy ultra-realistic three-dimensional surround sound wherever they may be sitting inside the automobile.

Exactly 25 speakers were optimally placed inside the Volvo EX90 to deliver audio the way the artist intended. It is, as Volvo pointed out — a philosophy that Bowers & Wilkins calls “True Sound.”

They also come with surround-sound listening modes, namely Studio, Individual Stage, and Concert Hall.

In addition to the optimally-positioned speakers, owners of the Volvo EX90 can enjoy a more immersive auditory experience with Dolby Atmos. Artists and creatives that make songs, podcasts, or other content in Dolby Atmos can place individual sounds intentionally in three-dimensional space to create a rich and detailed experience for listeners.

Dolby Atmos (though the Volvo EX90 Bowers and Wilkins high-fidelity premium sound system) will give audio content greater depth, detail, and clarity.
