In a recent press release, Ford announced the upcoming launch of the highly-anticipated F-150 Lightning. The EV version of the F-150 pickup truck was unveiled in May last year and was touted as the “smartest, most innovative truck Ford has ever built.”
According to the Blue Oval brand, the Ford F-150 Lightning will be launched on April 26. It will be live-streamed on Ford’s official YouTube channel. The American automaker also released a short clip showcasing the pickup truck before its debut. You can check it out here.
Ford and UAW leaders will host customers and employees to celebrate the start of F-150 Lightning production at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan. The Rouge Electric Vehicle Center is an ultra-modern facility within Ford’s historic Rouge Complex where Henry Ford perfected the moving assembly line and scaled the Model T.
The Ford F-series has been the company’s best-selling trucks in the US for 45 years in a row and is second only to the iPhone in revenue among all American consumer products, based on a 2020 study.
