WATCH: Husqvarna previews Norden 901 prototype

In a recent video uploaded on Husqvarna’s official YouTube channel, the Swedish bike maker showcased its latest adventure-touring motorcycle — the Norden 901.

The four-minute clip features South African-Swiss explorer Mike Horn and five-time Dakar Rally racer Cyril Despres riding the latest “Husky” in Iceland’s various scenic locations. This video was released after a series of teaser clips in Husqvarna’s TY channel, dubbed the “Norden 901 story.”

Both Horn and Despres brave Iceland’s unique terrains riding the Norden 901 prototype. The video reveals how the Swiss touring bike can manage to ride through rock, sand, dirt, and water.

The all-terrain prototypes seen in the video sport the round LED headlights used on the Svartpilen and Vitpilen naked sports bikes. Here it’s shown to have been paired with two supplementary lights to increase road visibility when riding at night.

Round side mirrors highlight the modern-retro style of the touring bike along with low windscreens that seem to come in clear and tinted options.

The fairings are finished in white with yellow stripes while donning the large Husqvarna logo. If you look closely, each bike appears to have had the signature of Horn or Despres indicating that Husky might release special-edition models based on the adventure bikes used by either the extreme adventurer or the rally racer.

In addition, the bikes do sport disc brakes front and back with mudguards and skid plates to protect the engine when riding on rough terrains. They also showed the adventure bikes wearing Akrapovič exhaust pipes.

The Husqvarna Norden 901 was first revealed by the motorcycle manufacturer two years ago and is based on the KTM 890 Adventure platform. Pricing and detailed specs are to be announced soon.
