WATCH: Hyundai Sonata N Line makes appearance in 'Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins'

In a recent press release, South Korean carmaker Hyundai announced that the Hyundai Sonata N Line makes an appearance in the upcoming film from Paramount Pictures, Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins.

The N Line is a marque Hyundai uses for its souped-up models outfitted with performance-oriented elements. The global N Line lineup includes the i10 N Line, Elantra N Line, i30 N Line, Kona N Line, Tucson N Line, and the Sonata N Line.

According to Hyundai, the Sonata N Line sees plenty of action in the movie. Snake Eyes, played by Henry Golding from Crazy Rich Asians, is seen in a high-octane car chase sequence in a Sonata N Line on a Tokyo highway, during which the car performs a pulse-pounding 180-degree drift.

Hyundai also reveals that the Sonata N Line is just one of three Hyundai vehicles to appear in the movie. The other two are the Hyundai Elantra — driven by Scarlett (Samara Weaving) — and the Hyundai Santa Fe.

“We are thrilled to partner with Hyundai Motor on Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins and bring our journey to life with exhilarating action sequences using stylish and sporty cars,” said Paramount Pictures VP of International Marketing Partnerships Irene Trachtenberg.

Hyundai also plans to introduce special-edition Sonata N Line models to commemorate the appearance of the beefed-up family car in the upcoming movie. Hyundai says that "The Black" edition and a "Night Edition" will be released in the Korean and US markets respectively.

These models will be launched in the third quarter of 2021, said the automaker.

Hyundai Motor Company Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Customer Experience Division Thomas Schemera said, “Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins offers a thrilling opportunity to watch and feel the sportiness and agility of the Hyundai Sonata N Line in action, prior to the launch of the limited edition."

The Hyundai Sonata N Line is not the only vehicle to appear alongside Hollywood stars in superhero movies.

BMW X3 and the Series 2 Gran Coupe also became part of today’s pop culture as they make their appearances in Marvel’s Black Widow alongside Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh.
