WATCH: Nissan Malaysia teases Kicks, could PH be next?
Nissan Malaysia released a promotional video for Chinese New Year 2022, which can be checked out here. In the one-minute clip, Nissan Malaysia did not only greet its customers, but also provided a glimpse of what could be coming to its roster of offerings, and among them is the Kicks.

The Nissan Kicks is available in two engine options: an ICE and one that uses Nissan's e-Power technology.The Nissan Kicks is a subcompact crossover SUV available in major markets including the US where it’s priced from US$19,700 to US$22,240. The US-spec Kicks (picture shown below) packs a 1.6-liter engine mated to Nissan’s Xtronic CVT to make 122 horses 155Nm of peak torque.
In Thailand, the Kicks crossover SUV (picture shown below) is fitted with Nissan’s e-Power technology which uses a 1,198cc ICE with electric motor. The system puts out 127 horses and 260Nm of torque.
Whether Malaysia will get the ICE or the e-Power version is yet to be announced.
On that note, since our ASEAN neighbors are getting their fair share of the Kicks, there’s a chance that the Philippines could be next. Nissan’s current lineup in the country includes the Navara, Urvan, Patrol, Terra, Almera, Leaf, the 370Z, and the Nissan GT-R.
