Nissan Philippines wants everyone to sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty of nature this holiday season by watch the world’s first leaf orchestra playing a Christmas song inside one of the country’s largest natural rainforests.
In a statement, the Japanese automaker’s local arm tapped two of the few leaf musicians in the Philippines — accompanied by a music ensemble — to play the popular Silent Night in the Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape in Bohol.
As popularized by Philippine National Artist for Music Levi Celerio, leaf musicians produce music by blowing air on leaves with their lips.
Nissan Philippines shared the performance “symbolizes the Nissan’s commitment to creating a sustainable future for everyone through electrified mobility with the Nissan Leaf.”
“As we celebrate the holidays with our loved ones, it is also important for us to be reminded of the beauty of nature and why we need to safeguard it,” President and Managing Director for Nissan in the Philippines Atsushi Najima was quoted as saying.
“May this performance be an inspiration for everyone to start their own journey towards sustainability,” he added.
The video of the performance can be viewed on Nissan Philippines’ official YouTube Channel. To know more about the zero-emissions and fully-electric Nissan Leaf, visit nissan.ph
