In a recent video uploaded on Nissan’s official YouTube channel, the Japanese automaker unveiled two limited-edition GT-Rs for the Japanese domestic market: the GT-R Premium edition T-spec and the GT-R Track edition engineered by Nismo T-spec.

The official unveiling of the JDM GT-Rs was presented by the people behind the refreshed nameplate including product planner for GT-R and Z cars, Hiroshi Tamura.
“Nissan GT-R is based on the concept of pursuing the ultimate driving pleasure. We stay true to the belief since the birth of the GT-R,” said Tamura.
The T-spec limited-edition models are specially equipped with exclusive carbon-ceramic brakes, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, an exclusive engine cover, and an exclusive badge for front and rear. They will also be made available in two new body colors: Midnight Purple and Millennium Jade.
“Originally, we thought of naming as TM rather than T-spec. TM was used in Nissan in the past. We use two letters which is an engineering code name, a secret code, used for the vehicle while we develop it,” explained Tamura.
“We used TM for this R35 because it was for trend maker. It’s about driving the trend… and the other notion is for hardware. GT-R is about firmly gripping the road surface, four wheels putting strong traction,” Tamura added.
T-spec, therefore, represents the GT-R’s philosophy of leading and shaping the times drawing inspiration from the words “trend” and “traction.”
Highlights of the Nissan GT-R Premium Edition T-spec include exclusive interior design, Rays forged alloy wheels (bronze), suspension that takes advantage of weight reductions below the springs, and an expanded wheel-rim width which increases tire rigidity and enables smooth and sensitive handling.
The Nissan GT-R Track edition engineered by Nismo T-spec, on the other hand, features an exclusive carbon-fiber roof and trunk lid. According to Nissan, the GT-R Track edition engineered by Nismo T-spec is a grade based on the standard model enhanced with Nismo technology.
Only 100 units of the limited-edition models are planned for sale, with successful purchasers selected by lot.
Four other variants will be released alongside the limited-edition models which include the Nissan GT-R Pure edition, the Nissan GT-R Black edition, the Nissan GT-R Premium edition, and the Nissan GT-R Track edition engineered by Nismo.
All are scheduled to go on sale in the second half of October says the automaker.
Pricing will range from ¥10,828,400 to ¥17,881,600.
