Back in April, Volkswagen teased us with a few sketches of the Taigo. And on July 29, the SUV coupe made its official debut in the European market.
Check out the video here.
According to Volkswagen, the Taigo is the company’s first crossover SUV and will be the brand’s newest trendy lifestyle model. Two trim levels have been confirmed: the Taigo R-Line (the red Taigo on the photo below) and the Taigo Style (the green Taigo on the picture below).
Some of the exterior features include full-LED headlamps with the IQ.Light LED matrix headlights and illuminated radiator grill crossbar depending on the options selected. At the rear are taillights bridged by a long LED bar. Black claddings on the front bumper, wheel arches, and rear bumper complement the Taigo’s strong proportions and give it a sporty look.
Inside, the five-seater crossover SUV features a multifunctional steering wheel, an all-digital cockpit, and the latest-gen infotainment system (MIB3) as standard. Depending on the Taigo’s configuration, customers can opt for an online control unit (eSIM) and the “App Connect Wireless.”
In addition, the Taigo can also offer access to streaming services, natural voice control, and cloud-based personalization using “Volkswagen ID” depending on the chosen configuration.
Driving nannies including Front Assist, Lane Assist, and City Emergency Brake function will come as standard, said Volkswagen. On the other hand, the IQ.Drive Travel Assist which offers semi-autonomous driving, is offered as an optional add-on.
Pricing and availability are still yet to be announced, although word on the web suggested that the SUV coupe could be released towards the end of 2021 with deliveries following soon after.
What do you think? Would this be a good compliment to the T-Cross here?
