Triumph has launched the latest addition to its adventure bike lineup, the Tiger Sport 660. According to the largest UK-owned motorcycle manufacturer, the new Tiger Sport 660 will set “a new class-leading standard with the highest level of power, the highest level of specification, and the lowest cost of ownership in the category.”

You can check out a video of its global reveal here.

The adventure bike stands upright and boasts an imposing “Tiger poise” with all-new bodywork and a compact low-mounted silencer. Its comfortable rider and pillion ergonomics with integrated pillion grab handles, an accessible low 835mm seat height, and a height-adjustable screen, making the Tiger Sport 660 an ideal touring bike.

Bringing light to the road ahead are full-LED headlamps with distinctive twin headlights and self-canceling indicators.

At the heart of the Tiger Sport 660 is an 80-horsepower engine with 64Nm of torque. It is the first triple engine in the category and was introduced to deliver the perfect combination of low-down torque with a strong mid-range and class-leading top-end power.

Stopping power will come from Nissin brakes with twin 310mm front discs while suspension is provided by Showa 41mm upside-down cartridge forks and Showa mono-shock RSU with remote hydraulic preload adjustment.

In terms of safety, the Tiger Sport 660 packs switchable traction control, ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, slip and assist clutch as well as an immobilizer.

Now, Triumph did say that it has the lowest cost of ownership in the category. On that note, the Tiger Sport 660 offers a two-year unlimited mileage warranty, with the option to extend for one or two years. In addition, it comes with a class-leading 10,000 miles (16,000 km) or 12 months service interval.

Over a three-year service timeframe, says Triumph, the Tiger Sport 660 requires the lowest level of workshop time in the category, at just over eight hours, making it 30 percent more cost-effective than its competition in terms of labor costs.

The bike also has the lowest maintenance parts cost over three years — 17 percent cheaper than the closest competitors, according to Triumph.

The Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is now on sale in the UK with a sticker price of £8,450.00.
