Honda has just made a teaser for the 11th-generation Civic, which would be revealed later this month and the word from grapevine is that the Philippine arm for the Japanese automaker might be bringing it sooner than many expected.
Based on the tip we had, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) could be bringing the Honda Civic this year, should tailwinds be favorable.
This information came following the latest release of a single photo that revealed the latest iteration of Honda Civic, which the Japanese automaker claimed to be the “most fun to drive and technologically advanced sedan in the model's nearly 50-year history.”
Last year, Honda provided hints on what can be seen on (and in the) the all-new Civic sedan after it has made its debut on Twitch. Based on the earlier statement, the forthcoming Civic sedan emphasizes its low and wide stance with strong horizontal elements, which include offsetting the upright grille below the headlights.
Giving it a more premium side view is the positioning of the greenhouse—now swept rearward, elongating the hood. The C-line has a gentle arc from the front fender to the taillights and the upswept R-line carries through the rear fenders to the rear reflectors.
On the inside, Honda said that the instrument panel of the soon-to-be-launched Civic sedan has reduced cut lines and breaks, with the door top and dash line blending harmoniously. The dashboard also has a honeycomb mesh accent stretched across its width that blends well with the air vents.
Aside from that, the 11th generation will have multiple new Civic-first technologies, including an all-digital driver's meter cluster and a new nine-inch full-HD Display Audio touchscreen mounted atop the low-set instrument panel.
Further, the 11th-generation Civic will have a plethora of new active and passive safety systems, including an upgraded suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistive technologies, and multiple new airbag designs. The said model will also come with a new version of Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure with both improved occupant and pedestrian collision protection.
The unveiling of the 11th-generation Civic sedan will coincide with the Honda Civic Tour in the US on April 28. For its 20th anniversary, the Civic Tour is going virtual this year, with two tour stops. The April 28 event will be live-streamed on the Live Nation Channel on Twitch and the second stop will be live-streamed on the Honda Stage YouTube channel this summer.
