Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) will launch a newest version of the CR-V sport utility vehicle in the country.
As many are anticipating for its local debut this week, customers are already looking forward on what they can get in the Philippine-bound model.
Here are some of them.
Per the invite sent to Carmudi Philippines, the upcoming Honda CR-V will be offered with the company’s e:HEV powertrain, which can be found on global models including the City in India and the Civic in the United States.
The range-topping model of the new Honda CR-V — to be more specific — will be an e:HEV-equipped model fitted with a 2.0-liter powerplant paired with electric motors.
The combination should not only offer reduced emissions and better fuel economy but also provide would-be owners with an exciting driving experience.
“While a motor operate throughout the low- to high-speed range, e:HEV relies on the gasoline engine alone for high-speed cruising. Through this configuration, the system realizes a unique combination of environmental performance and driving pleasure that could not be achieved with an engine-only system,” Honda wrote in a previous press statement.
A more intelligent SUV
Further, the forthcoming Philippine-spec Honda CR-V e:HEV will come with Honda Connect and the Honda Sensing suite of safety features.
While the features of the hybrid Honda CR-V are yet to be revealed, these may include functionalities such as live car location, stolen vehicle tracking, and unauthorized vehicle alert.
In terms of safety, we might see a mix of passive and active technologies like adaptive cruise control, a collision mitigation braking system, a lane-keeping assist system, and lane departure warning, to name a few.
Per HCPI, the new Honda CR-V will be offered in three variants: two of which will be solely gasoline-powered (1.5-liter gasoline engine) while the aforementioned top-of-the-line model will have the e:HEV system.
On that note, HCPI will drop the diesel variant of the SUV.
HCPI will launch the new CR-V this Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Price will range from P2.15 million to P2.6 million.
