While the Ford Ranger Raptor is ready for any challenge, its interior looks as cosseting as a luxury car's.
Underneath the Ranger Raptor's beefed-up fenders are Fox Racing shocks, and 17-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires custom-made for this model. With its Terrain Management System (TMS), the pickup truck can tune its running gear to cope with various terrain.
Meanwhile, under the Ranger Raptor's bulging hood is a two-liter bi-turbo diesel engine that puts out 210hp and 500Nm of torque. That motor is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Inside the gray interior, the driver and front passenger will sit on bolstered leather seats, which have the "Raptor" written on the backrest. The driver's seat has power eight-way adjustment, while the rear bench can fold upward to make room for cargo.
Blue and red stitching adorns the leather wrapped tiller, while racier details can be seen on the Ranger Raptor's instrument cluster. A push button starts or switches on the two-liter mill, while paddle shifters allow for up- or downshifting of the 10-speed auto.
Taking center stage is an eight-inch touchscreen Sync3 infotainment system. The system can be controlled via the array of steering wheel buttons, voice control, or by pressing the high-resolution touchscreen.
Sync3 also allows for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone mirroring, packs a navigation system, while the display can show the imagery from the Ranger Raptor's reversing camera.
There are six speakers in the cabin, while below the infotainment sits the controls for the dual-zone climate control.
Leather is also found in the gear shifter, and beside it is the knob to control the Ranger Raptor's TMS. With a twirl of the knob, the driving terrain selected will be flashed on the instrument cluster.
Going back to the exterior, another noteworthy feature of the Ranger Raptor is its tailgate lift assist. As it smoothens the drop of the tailgate, strain on the cables and hinge are eased. Not only is tailgate lift assist convenient, it's safe, too, as the elderly and children can open the rear without worry of injury.
