If you’re planning to go to the Xpander Cross launch this Friday, we’ve got some bad news for you. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) just announced that they are cancelling the event due to the spread of COVID-19.
But that doesn’t mean that you won’t get to see the Xpander Cross in the Philippines. MMPC cancelled the launch, but will still go through with the car display at the Glorietta 2 Palm Drive Activity Center this weekend, from March 13-15.
The new Cross will replace the GLS Sport in the current Xpander lineup. Rivaling the likes of the Toyota Rush, the new top-of-the-line Xpander Cross is fitted with a 1.5 liter MIVEC DOHC engine that puts out 103 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. As a step up on other variants, the Xpander Cross is fitted with 17 inch wheels instead of 16 inch alloys.
As the top-of-the-line Xpander variant, the Cross is expected to be the most expensive one in its lineup. Sources say that the Xpander Cross will start at Php 1.255 million.
More and more car events are getting cancelled due to the rapid spread of the virus. It's good to know that automakers are putting everyone's safety first by cancelling their events.
