Yamaha, Gilas Pilipinas team up for FIBA World Cup 2023

Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. (YMPH) has partnered with Gilas Pilipinas Men’s Basketball team for the FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball) World Cup 2023.

    YMPH President Hiroshi Koike stated, “We hope we can work together as one team to reach the ultimate goal,” which includes performing well in the tournament as well as spreading happiness and enthusiasm in the country.

    YMPH was no stranger to throwing its support for national athletes. Through the motorcycle distributor, McKinley Kyle Paz was able to compete at the Moto2 level of competition while Gian Carlo Mauricio and April King Mascardo competed at the 2022 Asia Road Racing Championship.

    Formalizing the agreement at the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) office were YMPH’s Koike, Shinsuke Iida (Sales and Marketing Division Head), and Toni Acuesta (Marketing Assistant Section Manager) as well as SBP Executive Director Sonny Barrios, Deputy Event Director FIBA World Cup Philippines LOC Erika Dy, and Gilas Pilipinas Team Manager Butch Antonio.
