Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has welcomed its new President, Katsuya “Kyle” Iida.
Iida steps in to fill the role of Hiroshi Koike as the leader of the Japanese motorcycle brand’s local arm. He assumed the position on October 1, 2024.
The new YMPH boss made his first public appearance as the company’s President at the recently held Yamaha PG-1 Film Series contest, where filmmakers were challenged to produce a short film centered around the outdoorsy small displacement motorcycle.
“I am honored to meet all of you and I am looking forward to having more Yamaha moments with everybody,” Iida stated.
“I have heard that you like exploration here in the Philippines. As Yamaha believes in the joy of motorcycle riding, I’m excited to see how our brand will become an integral part of your exploration with PG-1. I cannot wait to be immersed in your culture and create greater moments with my team. I am committed to offering more exciting products and tonight signifies another chapter of Yamaha Motor Philippines. Thank you very much and always remember, only Yamaha revs your heart,” he added.
The presence of the new YMPH figurehead at the Yamaha PG-1 Film Series competition seems fitting as Iida — according to YMPH Marketing Section Manager Toni Acuesta — is an active and outdoorsy person.
“Kyle-san is a very outdoorsy person as well… since he’s more of an outdoor guy, we can expect that there’s more outdoor activities to come along. Not just for the PG-1, but also for the rest of the motorcycles that we have,” Acuesta told Carmudi Philippines.
“We’re all excited about the new leadership of Kyle-san. This will help us to amplify how every customer can enjoy riding a Yamaha motorcycle,” he noted.
