Yamaha PH brings in race-bred YRF-R15M

Simultaneous with the reveal of the YZF-R3 WGP Edition, Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has also launched the YRF-R15M.

In a statement, YMPH said that the latest sports bike offering features advanced technology that has stemmed from the Yamaha R brand and exudes the company's signature motorsport identity.

The newly introduced model is powered by a 155cc single overhead cam (SOHC) fuel-injected engine with variable valve actuation that can deliver 18.8 horses and 14.7Nm of torque. The powertrain is paired to a six-speed transmission.

The Yamaha YRF-R15M is also the first single-cylinder model under the brand that has a quick shifter that allows drivers to have quick and smooth upshifts even without using the clutch. Aside from that, it also has the slipper clutch and traction control system (TCS).

The Yamaha YRF-R15M is 1,990mm long, 725mm wide, and 1,135mm tall with a saddle height of 815mm and 170mm ground clearance. The dimensions showcase the R-Series DNA with its aerodynamic body features and slim profile. The vehicle also wears 140mm super wide tires for better grip.

The single bi-functional LED headlamp emits both low and high beams while the LCD instrument panel houses indicators for shift timing, TCS, turn signals, and more. YMPH shared that the panel features two display modes: Street and Track.

Further, the Yamaha YRF-R15M comes with upside-down front forks and dual-channel anti-brake lock system.

Other notable features found on the Yamaha YRF-R15M include the aluminum swing arm, special seat, dual horn, meter panel switch, and gray color muffler guard.

• Icon Performance (priced at P189,500)
• WGP 60th Anniversary edition (P193,500).
