After unveiling the 2021 iteration of the Nmax, the local distributor for Japanese motorcycle firm Yamaha also brought to the country the new Mio Aerox and Mio Aerox S.
Just like the new iteration of the Nmax, the new version of the Mio Aerox and new Mio Aerox S has brought some nifty upgrades while maintaining their super sporty impression.
Both new models from Yamaha Motor Philippines Inc. (YMPH) now come with Y-Connect application usability, exclusively interconnecting your new Aerox or Aerox S to your mobile phone. As we have reported, the app provides pertinent data for your scooter to increase the link between man and machine.
Aside from that, the new Mio Aerox is powered with an upgraded liquid-cooled, four-stroke SOHC, 155-cc, single-cylinder, four-valve, fuel-injected engine with CVT and VVA.
This new F.I. Blue Core Engine now has a compression ratio of 11.6:1. Such numbers were reached as it is now fitted with a new cylinder head and a compact combustion chamber along with a wider intake valve. Giving a quieter start and re-start is the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) System.
Additionally, the new Mio Aerox now sports a sleeker design with the engine mounting angle and suspension link length optimized and the trail was made longer to bring excellent straight-line stability. The overall design complemented the sports style dynamics derived from the iconic “X” motif.
It sits on wide 110/80-14 (front) and 140/70-14 (rear) tubeless tires, giving the scooter a firm grip of the road.
The new Mio Aerox now has an improved LED headlight and position lights for better light projection while amplifying the sharp styling and the footboards were designed to give the rider a comfortable forward-leaning riding position.
The digital instrument panel has been adjusted and has display notifications and the RPM bars on both sides. The switch on the handlebars gives the ride a view of fuel gauge, voltmeter, oil trip meter and others.
Further, the Aerox now has a bigger capacity for the fuel tank as well as the underseat storage. The fuel tank can now store 5.5 liters while the compartment can fit one XL size full-face helmet. It also has electric power socket on the on the left-hand pocket to charge your mobile devices.
Available in Race Blu, Red, Dark Gray, and Black Raven the two variants are pegged at P112,900 and P132,900.
