Yamaha PH motorsport instructors attend off-road riding academy

As part of their constant pursuit of excellence, motorsport instructors of Yamaha Motor Philippines Incorporated (YMPH) attended a special off-road certification program.

    The program, spearheaded by YMC YRA Trainer Yuji Nakazawa and YMC YRA Senior Supervisor Anma Hitoyasu,  was designed to update and further refine the abilities of the participants as well as expand their knowledge on various off-road motorcycles.

    Per YMPH, the training course focused on riding posture, perimeter, start and stop, braking, sitting and standing, slalom, small turn, uphill and downhill.

    April King Mascardo, who placed third overall in the underbone 150 category of the 2022 Asia Road Racing Championship, attended the training for Day 1. Off-road champions Bornok Mangosong and Pia Gabriel were also part of the program.

    To culminate the program, participants received their respective certificates from Nakazawa. To note, Nakazawa bagged numerous accolades stemming from Motocross and Snowmobile Championships from the late 1990 to the early 2000’s in competitions held in Japan and the United States.

    Further, the Japanese motorcycle brand’s local arm said that the participants would get to apply the teachings that they have received at YZone and Rev Zone shops nationwide.

    “The Motorsports Team will continue to have skill up training throughout the year to ensure that they will always be equipped and confident in delivering and executing off-road activities,” the company noted in a statement.
