In celebration of its 60 years in the World Grand Prix (now known as the MotoGP), Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has launched a limited version of the Sniper155 and its scooter Mio Aerox.
These two models are wearing special liveries on their fairings, in a hue that the brand used back in its early years in the racing series.
Instead of the usual hues seen on Yamaha models, the WGP anniversary- edition Yamaha Sniper155 and Mio Aerox S are donning red graphics on pearlescent white body color. Aside from that, touches of yellow are seen on the models’ decals and badge.
Another commonality on the two YMPH offerings are the red front fenders, the 60th World GP Anniversary decals and the gold wheels.
The WGP-anniversary edition of the aforementioned scooter is equipped with 155 Blue Core engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and Smart Motor Generator. It also enjoys other features like the Smart Key System, Stop and Start System as well as the Anti-Brake lock system. This special version of the Yamaha Mio Aerox is offered with a P136,900-price tag — which is only higher by P4,000 than the Mio Aerox S.
Meanwhile, the WGP anniversary-version of the Yamaha Sniper, which was derived from the Sniper155R, is powered by a 155cc fuel-injected engine with VVA technology mated to a six-speed transmission with Assist and Slipper Clutch. This model is priced at P124,900 — P4,000 more than the normal Sniper155R.
To be offered in a very limited number, the WGP anniversary-edition Yamaha Sniper155 and Mio Aerox S now available at YZone dealerships, and will be offered in select Yamaha 3S Shops until January 2022.
