Yamaha Philippines over the weekend has officially revealed the latest version of its highly-sought scooter, the 2020 Nmax.
The public unveiling was the first-ever augmented premiere set in the Yamaha Rev Stadium, the virtual space for customers to enjoy the special digital presentation of Yamaha. It was also done months after Carmudi Philippines reported the pricing of the bike in the country.
First revealed in Indonesia, the updated NMAX is still powered by a 155cc-SOHC liquid-cooled, four-stroke Blue Core single-cylinder engine. However, it now has a new cylinder head and a compact combustion chamber designed to provide a higher compression ratio. It also has an optimized coolant pathway to bolster its reliability.
Now bearing more features, the 2020 NMAX boasts better convenience and design than its predecessor.
While it has adopted the six-bulb LED headlight design (four lights for low beam, the two lights high beam), it also now sports a three-dimensional taillight design.
Similar to the Yamaha Mio Aerox, the 2020 NMAX now has a Smart Key System to allow the rider to start the bike using the main switch knob.
Its full digital LCD screen displays the speedometer, bar-type fuel gauge, speedometer, clock, and fuel economy data.
Unlike the previous version, it now has a 12V power socket at the left hand storage pocket for charging mobile devices. The right side storage pocket, meanwhile, can fit a 7-8-inch smartphone or tablet.
Notable improvements to the 2020 NMAX include a handlebar switch control to cycle through displayed data, and a better Maxi two-level seat design.
Available in four colors such as Tech Camo, Midnight Black, Matte Red (for ABS only) and Phantom Blue (for standard only), the 2020 NMAX is retailed at P119,900 (standard) and P134,500 (NMAX ABS) and sold at the Yamaha Flagship Shop, the YZONE, Yamaha Rev Zones, and 3S Shops nationwide.
