Following the release of the World Grand Prix (now known as the MotoGP) edition of the Sniper155 and Mio Aerox S, Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has introduced the same limited-run iteration for the YZF-R3.
The unique features found on the Yamaha WGP R3 Edition are the special red-and-white liveries on the fairings — hues that the brand used in its early years of competing at the racing series. The newly introduced motorcycle also features the 60th World GP Anniversary decals, gold emblem and wheels as well as the red-colored front fender.
The newly launched motorcycle is 2,090mm long, 730mm wide, and 1,140mm tall with a ground clearance of 160mm and a seat height of 780mm.
The Yamaha WGP YZF-R3 Edition is powered by a 321cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, DOHC inline twin-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed transmission that can deliver a peak output of 41.4 hp and 29.6 Nm of torque.
The sports bike wears upside-down telescopic suspensions in the front and the swingarm type on the rear.
Providing traction and control over the vehicle are the hydraulic of the single disk brakes in both front and rear, the anti-brake lock system, as well as the 17-inch tubeless tires.
Further, the motorcycle displays relevant information on the digital meter panel.
The Yamaha YZF-WGP R3 Edition is priced at P270,000. In an interview, YMPH Marketing Assistant Section Manager Toni Boi Acuesta said that the Yamaha WGP R3 Edition will only have around 200 units in the country.
