Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) recently held the Visayan leg of its YClub Mania.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How many YClub members were in attendance in Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu?

There were 22 clubs with more than 600 YClub members present at Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu.
  • What are the two ways to become a YClub member?

Yamaha Motor Philippines Marketing Section Manager Toni Acuesta said that riders can become YClub members by joining a club as an independent member or form a group with at least 50 members that is Securities and Exchange Commission-registered.
  • For the uninitiated, YClub Mania is a gathering of various Yamaha motorcycle clubs in the country, brought together by their love for Yamaha motorcycles and the camaraderie built through riding their trusty two-wheeled steeds.

The said event was held in Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu, although participants first went on a short ride that took them through the small displacement motorcycle-friendly Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.

In total, there were 22 clubs (with more than 600 YClub members) who participated in the assembly, including the biggest Yamaha motorcycle club in the region — Aerox Club Philippines (Visayas Chapter) — and the all-girl riding club, Yamaha Cebuana Club.

YClub Mania wasn’t all fun and games though as esteemed speakers from the Department of Tourism and City Traffic Management System of Lapu-Lapu City impart their knowledge to educate YClub riders in sharing the road responsibly.

Following the event's success,  YMPH Marketing Section Manager Toni Acuesta shared to Carmudi Philippines how riders and clubs can become a part of the fun and exciting experience.

“For Yamaha Club right now, there are two ways: they can be as independent riders or they can form a group. But for them to form a group, they need to have at least to have 50 members and above, at the same time, they need to have a Securities and Exchange Commission registration. Just for us to make sure that they are a legitimate group… but they’re really a long-term kind of group for Yamaha,” explained Acuesta.

And as for the perks and benefits of YClub members, the YMPH executive said that “the more the number of members; the more activities they have; the more support we can provide as well. If you can look at our current riders they always send us weekly plans, weekend rides, so we can support them in terms of providing freebies and other items that they can enjoy while riding their Yamaha motorcycles.”

With YMPH’s Luzon and Visayas YClub Mania leg coming to a close, the local wing of the motorcycle brand now looks to reach out to its Mindanao members soon.
